If you’re like me you think “what a stupid word”, used by the innately positive people who have never struggled with anything, ever.

Well I recently changed my mind about that word.

Just as practicing gratitude can built up your resiliency, so too can positivity.

Let’s use a different word. I still dont like that one. Maybe the power of positive thinking.

I have a long time friend who is innately positive who has always said “think positive” in tough situations. Sometimes I wanted to smash her one. Never thought it was that simple.

But along with being grateful comes a positive ooutlook. You become more able to ” turn on a switch” to putting a positive spin on things. And yes it’s very helpful for your internal dialogue.

I am not saying thinking positive gives you the desired outcome or wish. I’m saying that a positive overall attitude builds up a “buffer” of sorts in adverse situations.

I dont take this attitude lightly. It’s not just a word. It is a part of the process of reflection, of reward for doing well , for coping, for having come through rough times.

I deserve a positive, grateful attitude. I’ve earned it. Most women probably have if they are over 50. Use “possitivity” to your advantage. Then it’s to the advantage of others because it becomes a ” shared” experience.

So thank you to my long time friend for assisting along the way with your “positivity”. I no longer want to smash you one.πŸ˜€πŸ’œ

My life has made me grateful for the little things. My work is my passion. I have worked with Seniors for 30 years. I have seen the way we view aging. There are changes coming. In our attitude and our self discovery. Aging is an awesome time of inner growth and development of who we are. We become who we were always meant to be. I love it!
